Livewire Cranes striker Daniel Sserunkuma who plays at Gor Mahia in Kenya and now has two caps and one goal in Uganda Cranes’ colours is finally receiving the praise and adoration and surprisingly from a man lest expected.
Last year, Sserunkuma considered changing nationality to feature for Kenya after he was repeatedly overlooked by Uganda.
Gor coach Bobby Williamson 51-year-old, sacked by Uganda in March, filled the role vacated by Croatian Zdravko Logarusic, who was dismissed in June but during his time as Cranes boss Sserunkuma was mostly ignored but following their 1-0 win over Sofapaka in a league clash played at Kasarani on Wednesday 23 October, Bobby has vowed to hold on to Dan Sserenkuma who scored the all-important goal.
Sserenkuma scored in the 88th minute to hand Gor the all-important three points.
“He was tremendous. I will do my best to ensure he does not leave Gor Mahia ever again,” Bobby Williamson said after the game.
League leaders Gor are course to win their 13th title after 18 years as well as defend their FKF Cup (Shield Cup) trophy.
