Former world heavyweight champion Francois Botha who was initially meant to land at Entebbe International Airport Thursday feared Somali insurgent group, al-Shabab we can confirm.

Botha a four-time world title challenger had planned to grace Friday’s Mogas National Boxing Championship at Club Obligato alongside World Boxing Federation president Howard Goldberg.

“I convey our apologies and sadness for having to postpone our proposed visit to Uganda at this time, as a result of the forecasted and imminent terror attack that may take place in Kampala,” Goldberg wrote in a letter to Rogers Ssenyonjo, the Uganda Boxing Union secretary.

However Uganda’s Super lightweight puglist Fred Muhumuza and Kenya’s Patrick Amote in main fight Kenyan boxer Idris Adiri and DR Congo’s Herve Zongo will take on Hudson Muhumuza Sula Segawa respectively.
