Kampala Badminton Club (KBC) and Tamizh Sangam community in Uganda have sponsored two badminton players Herbert Ebayo and Yakoub Musisi to participate in this weekend’s October 25-27 Nigeria International open tournament Martin Kaddu reports.
Ebayo, 19 and Yakoub, 22 both students at Ndejje University will be the second Ugandan participants after Edwin Ekiring who took part last year.
KBC purchased two return tickets for the players that were handed to them on Monday by KBC director Rafi Mohammed who was accompanied by founder Member Vaheed Mohammed who also doubles as the association vice president finance at NCS offices in Lugogo. The duo was officially flagged off by NCS assistant General secretary Nicolas Muramagi.
Ebayo who lost to team mate Yakoub on the semis of the recent UCC Open is the reigning computer point champion and he hopes that despite giving away a walk over to Fred Kirabo and Brian Suna after Yakoub injury in the finals of UCC open, they will put up a good show in Nigeria.
‘We have had enough training, motivation and facilitation at KBC and we are hope to post a recommendable result,” Ebayo who has so far had two international engagements in 2013 told RedPepper Online.
