SCENES From Pepsi Independence Golf Cup

The Pepsi Independence Day Golf tournament concedes with the Uganda Independence anniversary and being an annual showpiece- the event is on every regional golfer’s to-do list with the 2013 bounty totaling upto shs.150m from Crown Breverages.

The one day tournament attracted 209 amateur golfers and 17 professionals with Silver Opio beating 17 professionals to claim the 10 million kitty with a gross score of 146 over two days of action while Uganda Ladies Open winner 24 year-old Angel Eaton who prolonged her stay in Uganda by a further two days claimed the ladies crown.

Don Gorman claimed the overall crown with a score of 41 points on count back and also walked away with a cash prize of 10 million shillings among other prizes that included 32’ LCD TVs, Fridges and gift hampers.
