Heathens Trounce Entebbe
MTN Heathen’s pre-season involvement in the inaugural East African Rugby Super Cup helped them register a 24-7 winning start over rivals Entebbe Sadolin Mongers in the revamped 2013-14 Nile Special Super 8 Rugby League that kicked off on Saturday.
Asuman Mugerwa, Artur Mukama, Evans Kingsha scored tries in the first half before captain, Michael Wokorach, Bishop Onen and Allan Okello converted later in the gameto ensure Heathens don’t loss a league game at Kyadondo in over four years with rivals DMark Kobs the last team to win there.
Former champions DMark Kobs also started the season with a 46-6 home victory against Mutoni Warriors at Legends whereas G4S Pirates fell 29 – 25 to Ezee Money Rhino at the same venue.
Away in Lira, the Toyota Buffaloes received points on a silver platter as the home team, Lira Bulls failed to meet the mandatory health safety measures of an ambulance at the match venue in the northern Uganda district.
