Lukwago’s impeachment comes after the KCCA Tribunal chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire found him guilty of incompetence, abuse of office and misconduct hence giving a green light to his impeachment.

The formation of the Tribunal was after over 20 councillors petitioned the Minister in charge of Kampala Frank Tumwebaze seeking the impeachment of Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

Today up to 29 councillors voted to oust him. Only three voted against the move.
