Just days after Museveni Sendungu, the head of political affairs was suspended over indiscipline, M23’s boss Bertrand Bisimwa has once again swung the axe.
Bisimwa who is the President of the M23 rebel movement has fired two more delegates from the groups delegation in the Kampala Peace talks
He accused them of indiscipline.
Jean Serge Kambasu Ngevu who has been serving as the Permanent secretary of the M23 Movement political Executive and principal Negotiator and Jerome Mashagiro Nzeyi who has been a member of the M23 movement Political Executive and Member of the M23 Delegation in Kampala are the two delegates who have been fired.
Meanwhile, Sendugu’s fate is yet to be determined by the M23 Rebels disciplinary board.
Documents dated November 26, 2013 indicate that the officers have lost the mandate to conduct any business on behalf of the M23 rebels Movement.
Subsquently, the group released a new list of delegates appointed on the M23 movement’s delegation.
They are; Rene shall, Dr. Alexis Kasanzu, Daniel Manfazini Mvuyekure, Ali Musagara,Joel Malembe, Antoine Manzi, Claude Marafiki, Fanette Atonq, Laurence Kingstone Kanyuka, Desired Rwigema Rukomera, Oscar Balinda, Amani Kabasha, John Michaels, Elie Mutela, Jean-Paul Epenge.
Bisiimwa further reveals that the rebel movement is still committed to the peace talks with the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The talks are taking place in Kampala under the mediation of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region ICGLR.
The Rebels were forced out of their bases in the DRC by a combined force of the UN intervention Brigade Comprised of forces from Tanzania, South Africa and Malawi who back the Congolese government forces against the formerly obstinate rebels.
