FUFA Big League side The Saints FC will play host to their league counterparts Gulu University from Northern Uganda in a weekend league match set for play at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole.

Nicholas-OdongThe Saints chief records Officer Pius Bamwange has confirmed to RedPepper Online edition that the match will kick off at 1600Hrs and the team will use it to boost their chances of returning to the top slots ahead of the Rwenzori group log after two disastrous results against Baza Holdings and Ndejje University.

“It is an important match for us since we have another opportunity to show great results. The team is ready for action despite the last fixture unfortunate style from our opponents that left our players demoralized,” Saints head coach Hussien Mbalangu said in a phone chat.

The coach bitterly complained after their last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Ndejje saying that the team used excessive physical tact though he axuded confidence that they will win.

The Saints FC now occupy mid table position in a table of 11 teams with five points from four games but will still miss forwards Bukenya Kitatta, Rashid Kiyini and midfielder Okoth Ivan who saw red in Ndejje.

In other FBL action, the Wakiso district Derby pits  second placed Lweza against 3rd positioned Artland – Katale at Kajjansi while Western side, Rwenshama hosts Jinja Municipal Council football club before Kumi University entertain Ngora Fredda Carr at Kumi Sports grounds.
