Brian Nkubi maintained his scoring form as he single handedly destroyed Makerere University 9-5 helping St Lawrence University to remain unbeaten in the Pepsi National beach soccer League over the weekend.

beach4St Lawrence who have won all their opening six games of the and Nkubi who scored nine times in the league a fortnight ago, was on fire again as he netted five goals at Lido Beach Entebbe.

“We worked so hard to register a win over Makerere in what was an all University affair. Makerere looked sharp and pushed us till the end’ said Nkubi.

Emma Kalyowa scored the other four goals for the defending champions to maintain pole position with 18 points in the Hurikken group.

Muyingo Nicholas scored a hat-trick for Makerere while Semanda Moses added a brace.

In the Moonson group, the Mengo derby saw Real Galacticos thump Braza Braza 3-2 with strikes from Pirlo Johnson (2) and Denis Serukwaya. Braza Braza’s goals were scored by Cashum Kassim and Mwinda Razake.

“We are close rivals. But we had to keep them at bay and also deny them shooting space. It was a sweet win and our celebrations tell a big story’ said Muzeeyi Saidi the team captain of Real Galacticos.

It was misery for Gaddafi Gadino of Kira Young who was shown a red card by center referee Viola Kamulegeya for abusive language as his side saw off Stormers 4-3. Kiira played with only five players and had no players on the bench for substitutes.

Mengo Institute vs Fisheries fixture wasn’t played as the Principal of Fisheries Mrs Abaro Obote had lost her kid.

MUBS vs Zai Plaza was also not played as MUBS were having a tight academic schedule.

The two ties will be honored on the 1st of December –the same day for the final games of the first round at Lido Beach Entebbe.
