Vipers FC Homeless after Buikwe Closure

A string of regrettable results and the indefinite closure of their home ground over inadequate security has spelled a torrid FUFA Super League first round for former champions Vipers FC formerly Bunamwaya.

The development by FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL) disciplinary committee follows an aborted game between Vipers SC and SC Villa on November 5 when the referee refused to start the second half of the match after the fourth official had been hit with an object.

In their ruling announced on Friday, the FSLL decided that after looking at a number of issues, the game will be replayed on November 10 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

“The Stadium is indefinitely suspended till the time when the secretariat will be satisfied that the security at the place is guaranteed for whichever team will be using it,” said the FSLL.

FSLL also suspended Masaka LC FC’s team doctor, Jjemba Bull for the remainder of the season and asked him to pay a fine of 500,000 Shillings (US$200).
