Hassan Wasswa Mawanda may spark a war of words between Kampala City Capital Authority FC and his new team in Vietnam after declaring he did not return to Kampala to play for KCCA FC again.

The defensive midfielder is said to have vanished last month after getting clearance to go for trials in Qatar but instead ended up signing a contract with a team in Vietnam, returned to the country last week.
The 27 year-old returned from professional football in Turkey last year, communicated last month that he had joined Vietnam League side Don Nai, but his KCCA FC club insisted the player can only be released if US$50,000 is paid.
“I am back to sort out my paperwork and family issues, but not to play for KCCA FC. If they want me to pay them I will do that, but not play for them,” insisted Wasswa, who skippered Uganda Cranes to qualification for the 2014 Africa Nations Championship.
But the Lugogo club is ready to fight for their player till the last minute.

“We have tried to contact him, but his phones are off. We are going to write to the FA declaring him as a deserter and further action will be taken against him,” Allan Ssewanyana, the KCCA FC Vice Chairman and acting spokesman vehemently disclosed.

“Players should be disciplined and follow proper channels if they want to join the paid ranks,” Ssewanyana added.
