Lweza 2-1 Artland
Saints 0-0 Gulu Uni
Kumi 0-0 Ngorra Fredda
Busia 0-1 Kirinya Jinja SS
The Saints FC wasted a number of opportunities and were held to a barren draw by Gulu University in a FUFA Big League match played Saturday 2 November 2013 at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
It was a game which the home side needed to get something from to more or less guarantee their place in top half of the 11-team Rwenzori group and they did just that with a point even though it should have been three.
Farook Kawooya, Umar Mulumba, Nicholas Odongo, Julius Madepi and Morris Karomonez all fluffed good chances as Gulu stood their ground for another away point in two days. Gulu on Thursday held Mutundwe Lions, another Kampala side to a 0-0 draw.
Saints dominated from the onset with chances for its forwards but they were uncharacteristically wasteful in-front of goal as the game went on.
Gulu on the other hand were subdued and lacked the kind of verve they usually have in their play and suffered badly due to fatigue having played in midweek.
Saints next travel to Lweza who overcame Artland 2-1 at Kajjansi and hope to have their striker Alex Kitata (out since October) back in time for Lweza as they aim to overcome a goal drought that has seen the team manage one goal in three games.
The point each means Gulu now in 7th place with 6 points from 6 games played with Saints on 6 points, one above Gulu but with a game less.
