Emirates Uganda Gets New Boss

EmiratesEmirates Airlines has announced Thani Abdulla Al Ansari is the new Uganda country manager for Emirates as per its new management changes in its commercial operations in Africa.

According to Hubert Frach, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations West, the moves are to reinforce the commitment to long term career development of the company’s employees and to create a unique environment for the different varies of market dynamics. It also aims at broadening the new manager’s knowledge of aviation industry.

Thani joined the company in 2011 as a Commercial Trainee where he took on various roles as Commercial Manager in the UAE, Bombay and London. He holds bachelor degree in Business Administration from the American University in Texas, USA.

  1. Ofcourse there are thousands of Ugandans more qualified “technically” for this job. The issue is multinationals prefer one of their own most of the time to act as CEO, which is being seen across all sectors…however Arabs are not like indians who bring even receptionists from India…i guess emirates is employing a good number of Ugandans in key strategic positions.
