The government of Uganda has also added it’s voice to those paying tribute to South Africa’s anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela who passed away on Thursday.
In a statement issued Friday by government Spokesman Ofwono Opondo, Mandela has been described as “A unique statesman of unequaled demeanor”.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOR THE LATE NELSON MANDELA
The Government of Uganda would like to express deep sorrow on the passing of President Nelson Mandela, the former president of S.Africa and leader of ANC.
The government extends condolences to the family of Nelson Mandela, the government of S.Africa, and to all peace loving people of the World who loved and admired Nelson Mandela.
His struggle to liberate S.Africa from apartheid was monumental and he is acknowledged all over the world as a unique statesman of unequalled demeanor. We may in due course have much more to add, but for now,
May his soul rest in Eternal Peace
