The decision followed the arrest of a Glaser Benhard Bery, a German national who has been operating a foster home ‘Ssese Humanitarian services and Child Care centre’ in Kalangala district.

Glaser was arrested early this month on allegations of sexually abusing minors adopted at this home. Glaser is currently on remand at Masaka central prison.

Aaron Tulibagenyi, the southern regional Community Liaisons officer, said that this incident was an eye opener that aroused police suspicions.

As a result police has taken keen interest into establishing what takes place in such homes, the conditions under which the foster children are kept and the kind of people taking care of the children, Tulibagenyi added
