Army side Simba SC will look to move away from the FUFA Super league relegation scrap when they host Kampala City Council at the Bombo Army grounds on Friday evening.
Simba are currently in 10th place with 17 points from 14 matches, just four points ahead Express FC in 13th place and eleven more than bottom-of-the-log side CRO with no games left to play of the first round.
This means that Fred Kajoba’s men are now under pressure to get a positive result from this weekend’s fixture having lost to the defending champions home and away last season (2-1 in Lugogo and 3-1 at Bombo) could see them fighting for their survival in their last game of round one.
With Kajoba away with Uganda Cranes in CECAFA Cup as Cranes assistant his deputy John Kayanja will take charge of the team.
However, against KCCA they will come up against a side that is currently involved in a tight battle for the league title.
George Nsimbe’s side are currently in third place with 27 points from 17 matches, two less than current leaders Vipers, and will also go all out to secure maximum points on Saturday afternoon and leapfrog the Lugazi side and 2rd placed SC Victoria University who have already played all the 15 games.
