Total Injects UGX150M to Reduce HIV Infections in Pakwach

Total E&P Uganda has injected 156 million shillings towards a community initiative aimed at reducing new HIV infections in Pakwach Town Council in Nebbi District.

The one-year pilot project targets most-at-risk-persons like young people, boda-boda cyclists, sex workers as well as Total staff and contractors by contributing to the prevention of new HIV infections and mitigation of effects of HIV/Aids in Pakwach Town Council.

This is expected to be achieved by providing comprehensive HIV/Aids information and promoting referrals to available HIV/Aids and sexual reproductive health services.

The money has been channeled through a local community anti-Aids initiative, the Community Care Anti-Aids Project-CCAP run by Agency for Accelerated Regional Development (AFARD), a Nebbi-based non-governmental organization.
