In the first day of action at the the National University Sports Federation of Uganda (Nusfu) Games underway at UCU Mukono this morning, Western region’s curling teams faced off against each other with Bensious Turyabagye of Bishop Stuart University Mbarara scored a priceless equalizer on 64 minutes to deny Kabale University maximum points in a Group A opener.
The two regional powerhouses settled for a ended 2-2 all draw though Kabale drew first blood scoring twice two within 15 minutes through Nkurunziza Jacques in the 9th minute and Nsibimana Evaliste in the 24th minute. Mbarara based Bishop Stuart University however took advantage of a Gyisimo Patrick sendoff minutes after the half-hour mark to pull back one through Joram Musiimewa in the 39th minute.
Bishop Stuart pressed hard and made life difficult for Kabale University and their efforts were paid off with a 64th minute goal to level matters. In other Group A fixture Ndejje University drew 1-1 with Makerere University Business school. Julius Malingumu who was a star in the University football league scored for MUBS who are handled by Charles ‘Mbuzi’ Ayiekhoh.
