Uganda Cranes defender Savio Kabugo has said beating Morocco this evening in their last Group B encounter of the ongoing Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) will be his perfect birthday present.
The Sports Club Victoria University defender, who has been pivotal in all the two games for Uganda, celebrates his birthday today.
“We need to go all out and win this game and qualify for the quarterfinals,” said Kabugo.
The soft-spoken defender said he will enjoy his birthday even if they don’t get all the three points, but make it into the last eight.
“This tournament means a lot to us because we are a young team that has worked so hard. We want to go all the way to the later stages of the competition,” added Kabugo.
Kabugo, who had trials with PSL side Bidvest Wits last year, said he is working hard on possibly attracting more interest from top sides in Africa and Europe.
The Cranes currently lead Group B with four points after their 2-1 win over Burkina Faso and a goalless draw against Zimbabwe.
