Wasswa Hungry For CHAN Success
Experienced Ugandan defender Hassan Wasswa Mawanda has said he is hungry to win the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) trophy.
The KCCA FC player who has played professional football in Ethiopia, South Africa and Turkey said although he is aware of the competition expected at the Championship, they have trained hard and will be on a serious mission.
Wasswa who recently returned from a failed move to a Vietnam team said he is optimistic they will qualify from the Group.
The Cranes will have to be at their best in the Group against Zimbabwe, Morocco and Burkina Faso. In the 2011 Edition held in Khartoum, Sudan, the Cranes lost all the three matches and managed to score one goal through Saddam Juma who is not part of Micho’s team.
Team skipper Dennis Iguma who recovered few weeks ago after a three months lay off with injury is the only player on the Ugandan team who featured in the squad in the 2011 Edition.
