Askari Wins Final Airtel Ride

After winning the  Airtel Uganda Kyakala Toyota Harrier, Sande Luganda a security officer at New Nana Hostels in Makerere, could have ditched his job and a major life upgrade. But the Kikoni man isn’t making any grand plans.

The dark skinned father of two has spent almost a decade doing odd jobs in the city was shocked when he was informed of his luck, but he quickly decided he’s staying put and will instead use the machine to ease his movements not sell or becomer a taxi man.

“I can’t believe that I have won my dream car,” Luganda exclaimed at Makerere University Sports ground on Friday as Airtel’s outgoing Managing Director, Mr. V G Somasekhar ahnded him the car keys. Nonetheless, his entire clan escorted him and lifted Sande shoulder high.

The event marked the end of Airtel Uganda’s Kyakala promotion that has been an ongoing promotion since December, 2013 and has seen various Airtel customers win 10 Cars and money totaling up to Shs350 million.

The other fian draw car, a UAU 250H was Judith Bikeyo a student at YMCA Kampala at the event that was graced by BET Awards nominees; Radio and Weasel of the GoodLyfe Crew and the ever so talented lady; Sheeba. With electrifying performances from many other entertainers

“We at Airtel love to give back and it is through promotions like Kyakala and many others that we get to show our appreciation for our customers. Airtel will continue unveiling new services and rolling out more promotions so as we can serve the customers at our best. We promise there is more to come,” Somasekhar promised.
