Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has advised members of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) to desist from forming cliques warning that the party’s patriotic forces will defeat the ‘clique schemes’.

The president who is also the chairman of the NRM gave this warning on Friday while  making his opening address to the NRM parliamentary retreat at Kyankwanzi national institute.

NRM leaders on Thursday began their week-long retreat that among others will receive a report from scientists on whether homosexuals are born or made.

The report follows a request by President Yoweri Museveni for scientific proof on the cause of homosexuality before he assents to the Anti Homosexuality Bill that was passed by Parliament in December, 2013.

Earlier David Bahati, the Deputy Government Chief Whip said the Caucus will review the progress and challenges of the party’s work in all sectors using the manifesto as a benchmark.

According to Bahati, the review will guide the ruling party on areas that need fast tracking. It will run under the theme; “The NRM Manifesto 2010-2016, Progress, Challenges and Opportunities.

  1. What does “patriotic forces” mean? Does this mean UPDF? Does it mean “iso”? Does it mean “eso”? Does NRM have a military wing that is unknown to the nation? If it does, is it legal? Who pays these forces? Is the party stealing tax payers many to pay a private force?

    Please help me understand?

  2. The old man is scared of the info coming out that the disgruntled NRM members wants to form NRM-DC(National Resistant Movement for Democratic Change). Its anticipated all the disgruntled NRM members will cross over to NRM-DC.. Its indeed sad for NRM.
