The Lady Volleyball Cranes quest for a maiden World Championship appearance to be held in Italy later in the year starts Sunday against hosts and perennial favourites  Kenya on on 16th February 2014 in Nairobi.

The team left on Thursday morning with all the 13 players in camp though only 12 will be registered before the games start.

At the zonal stage, Uganda dismissed Tanzania and Egypt in straight sets, losing only to Kenya proceeding to the final qualification stage. With Egypt in the other pool of qualification, Uganda still has Kenya, Tunisia and Senegal to deal with.

The other Pool will be held in Algeria and will comprise of Algeria, Botswana, Ghana, Cameroon, DR Congo, Nigeria and Egypt

Only one team will win the honors of qualifying to represent the region in the world Championship.
