Bubulo West By Elections: Mutonyi Elected NRM Candidate

Rose Mutonyi Masaba is the NRM candidate for the Bubulo West MP by-elections. Michael Mumya, the Manafwa district NRM registrar declared Mutonyi elected a few minutes after defeating five other contenders in the primary elections.

Mutonyi garnered 23, 244 votes ahead of her main rival Richard Michael Nataka who managed 9769 votes. Ronnie Walukhu came second with 12, 174 votes, Nataka came third with 9769; John Shimiyu came fourth with 4895 votes.

Peter Werikhe fifth position with 1968, Abasa Samalie came sixth with 1501 votes while Situma Munyanda trailed the pack with 548 votes. All the losers have conceded defeat and pledged their support for Mutonyi.

The Bubulo West MP seat fell vacant after the former MP Tony Kipoi Nsubuga was kicked out of parliament for skipping more than 15 consecutive sittings without authorization from the speaker.
