The long awaited battle for the search for the ‘Undisputed King of kickboxing in Uganda’ that is on tonight at Freedom City, on Entebbe Road has gained momentum after the self-styled ‘No Joking Subject’ – Moses Golola finally shed some skin in an exclusive phone chat with Red Pepper Online Sport and placed the fight in the heavenly father’s hands.
“For sure i know my father in heaven is on my side like he has always been. I respect Mugula. He is one of the top fighters in the countries but today he is going to know that the God that got from the bottom and made me the champion of Uganda will previel,” Golola a confessed born again says.
Golola spoke to sportsmaniaug.com, immediately after the weigh-in at Freedom City, Kampala, and boasted: “I respect Mugula, so I will give him a warm welcome from Thailand with a 2nd round K.O, to show him there’s only one champion.”
A cool and relaxed Mugula however watered down any hard talk and said he was in good shape and well prepared for the contest set for this Friday 7th March 2014 at Freedom City, Kampala.
Tanzania’s Kaka Alifunzi has been brought in by the federation as the fight official while world referee Paddy Blick Wandera Mugoya will stand between the two fighters.
Through his verbal artillery, Golola has elevated kickboxing from the gutters or rather nowhere to the front pages.
Again and again, he came up short, barely showing anything close to a kick boxer. When he fought Hungarian Adras Nagy here, Golola took the belt but clearly lost the fight. Then, he famously suffered “a disco-lation” in a clear loss to Matte Zsamboki that even his sworn faithful would hardly find any kind of words to defend.
Golola recently knocked out Titus Tugume within 62 seconds in August last year, to retain his East and Central Africa Championship belt .
Several Undercard fights have been lined up to spice up the evening. Gates open by 6 pm.
