A goalless draw against Bright Stars FC on Friday at the Kitende Stadium has kept Sports Club Vipers top of the FUFA Super League log.
Coach Edward Golola’s side had hoped to increase their lead, but found the Bright Stars defence tight. SC Vipers now lead the log with 36 points, while URA FC moved to second place after a convincing 3-0 victory over Proline FC.
The former champions gave Proline no time to settle as Cranes striker Frank Kalanda netted a brace, while Feni Ali scored the other.
“We shall continue to work hard and take every game very seriously since this is the second round of the league,” said URA Coach Paul Nkatta.
Uganda Cup holders SC Victoria University failed to go past Soana FC at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. Siraje Turyamureeba scored the only goal to send Soana FC to fourth place.
At Nakivubo Stadium, SC Villa stopped Kiira Young 2-1 with Victor Emenago and Karim Ndugwa scoring for the blues, while Sulaiman Achero scored for Haruna Kebba’s side. In the other matches played Bidco and Express settled for a goalless draw, while bottom placed CRO also held Police to a 1-all draw.
In Entebbe, visiting Masaka LC netted through Ivan Kisekka to secure a 1-1 draw against Enettbe FC. Godfrey Serubogo scored for the home side.
