M7 Hands Over Buganda Kingdom Properties

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has lived up to his promise and officially handed over titles of Buganda Kingdom Properties. 

The properties were confiscated in the nineteen sixties.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday at State House, Entebbe.

Buganda kingdom has been handed 213 land titles.

The president commended the Mengo government saying there have been no issues regarding the properties.

“I commend Mengo. In recent times i have heard positive statements from there. I encourage them to continue in that line” the president said.

He asked cultural leaders to teach people the value of work. The president Commended the Kabaka for fronting this in his 59th birthday speech in Butambala.

President Museveni said land occupied by big populations who do not qualify as ‘lawful people’ will not be returned.

“Government will in such cases negotiate with the Kabaka and see how to solve that problem. We don’t want a social crisis” the president said.

    Fair enough, as long as those large populations are indigenous to Buganda!

  2. There is something sinister about the relation between the hand shake and the facial expression of the two gentle men.Just curious!!!
