SCVU goes joint top with KCC

Denis IgumaSports Club Victoria University have gone joint top of the FUFA Super League with KCCA FC after a 1-0 win over Bidco in a match played this evening at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Simon Okwi who was returning from injury made the difference after scoring the lone goal five minutes after recess. The win pushed Coach Morley Byekwaso’s team to 49 points together with KCCA FC, although the defending champions have a better goal difference and a game in hand.

Express FC also moved to 10th place after a 2-0 victory over visiting Soana FC at the Wankulukuku Stadium. In the other games played SC Vipers and URA FC lost ground on the table leaders after a barren goalless draw. The two teams are on 46 points.

Masaka LC who are battling to stay in top flight football will also have Derrick Ssemere to thank for a late equalizer against SC Villa who scored early through Karim Ndugwa. The game between army side Simba and Entebbe FC ended goalless just like the one between Police and Bright Stars
