The Bamburi Super Series (BRSS) is an East African Rugby Union competition with eight teams in total, five teams from Kenya, two from Uganda and one from Tanzania.
The 2014 Bamburi Rugby Super Series kicked off Saturday 26th April 2014 at the Kyadondo Rugby Grounds in Kampala Uganda with two group fixtures pitting Ugandan sides Victoria and Rwenzori against Kenyan opposition in the form of Chui and Papa.
The Series will continue to the 7th of June and will take place across towns and cities in Uganda and Kenya in five phases with each hosting two matches.
Uganda’s teams are sponsored by Vivo Energy in partnership with Hima Cement. Vivo Energy, under the flagship brand Vpower boosted the tournament with a cash contribution of 10 Million UGX.
Vivo Energy also gave away 9 LPG gas cylinders complete with stoves to fans and players at the games, stimulating participation and creating lots of anticipation and excitement.
The teams are also sponsored by AON Insurance, UAP Insurance, and Protector.
