Superbrands East Africa, an affiliate of London-based Superbrands UK, has today announced Turkish Airlines as the official travel partner for the Kampala do.
It identifies and pays tribute to exceptional brands by recognising, rewarding and reinforcing leading brands from all over the world.

During the signing of the partnership today, Erbil Akgun, the Turkish Airlines Uganda general manager, said; “We believe partnering with Superbrands East Africa will strengthen our brand’s position, add prestige and set Turkish Airlines brand apart from our competitors. It will also give our brand a platform to reach more of our potential market worldwide.”

“I am happy that Turkish Airlines has come on board to support the awards. This partnership will make it affordable for guests travelling to and from Kampala from other regional cities for the awards ceremony,” said Jawad Jaffer, the project director Superbrands East Africa.

“Superbrands as the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding shall continue identifying and paying tribute to exceptional brands by recognising, rewarding and reinforcing leading brands from all over the world,” Mr Jawad added.
He added that now is the most exciting time to identify and celebrate the region’s leading brands.

“Brands have an ever-increasing importance in our day-today lives, and as consumers we have never been more engaged; logos are tattooed onto enthusiasts’ bodies and thousands join social networking groups to campaign for the re-launch of a favourite brand.”

The signing of the partnership was witnessed by the Minister for Finance, Hon Maria Kiwanuka, who is also a Superbrands Council Member in East Africa.
Minister Kiwanuka expressed her delight at Uganda hosting the awards for the first time, adding that Uganda’s economy will get better as more companies aspire to be quality brands.

The previous awards were held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

As part of the sponsorship, the Turkish Airlines will provide two (2) Business Class Tickets for the raffle draw to be held on the awards night and one Business Class Ticket for Superbrands itself. The tickets will be valid after the awards night for up to 12 months.
