Opposition supporters had started converging at Kasana Taxi Park ahead of the afternoon rally.  The rally is expected to feature Opposition leaders, Mugisha Muntu, Kizza Besigye, Norbert Mao and a cross section of members of parliament.

Our Reporter at the scene describes the mood as tense as anti-riot Police under the command of the officer in Field Force Unit Samuel Bamuzibire condones off the Place claiming its not suitable for a public rally.

Police argues that a rally in a place by the roadside may compromise traffic along the Kampala-Gulu highway and threaten business in the nearby market.

Bamuzibire ordered the opposition candidate to instead change the venue and hold the rally at Kasana Playground an option which was rejected by opposition supporters.

Suleiman Kidandala, the Kampala Deputy Mayor accused Police of discrimination and flouting electoral Laws.  He explains that other candidates in the race have previously held rallies at the same spot without any report of traffic or business being compromised.

By press time, Nabukenya’s Supporters were still in Taxi Park chatting Praises for their candidate while accusing police of being partisan and biased.

  1. I CAN REMEMBER HOW MUSEVENIS RALLY WAS BLOCKED IN JINJA BECAUSE OBOTE HAD A RALLY THERE IN 1980,IS HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF???????

  2. Thugs at it again blocking an opposition rally. This could be on the orders of the lead thug

  3. Those are tactics of cowards. A preacher recently made me believed what i have seen, heard and witnessed in life. Weak people use threats and work hard not to allow the strong to speak or be heard. Some of these weak people have grown and matured violent environment and know only violence as a tool. They are always scared because they fear wisdom and prefer to use their chest. Such people usually keep society in a backward state because they fear change. In politics such batch of organized thieves and ideologically senile have caused havoc to society from historical times.

They fear those who are superior in thought, word and deeds. Amin was a dictator because he could not reason with elites. NRM lives in fear because their ideology is no longer suitable and sustainable for this dynamic world of knowledge based development agenda with ever well articulated opposing view. They roar like lions to scare aware the rational thinkers because they can not sustain philosophy.

    Shame upon them

  4. Come what may, NRM will not take over Luwero women seat. Be it massive cheating like the one we witnessed in the Kampala Mayoral elections .

  5. When God opens the Door for the Parliament to Brenda Nabukenya Museveni cannot close it and the people of Luwero gives thanks for the act of God listening to their cries over the Government harassment.
