Egypt was the first to arrive for the Federation of International Beach Volleyball U-19 World Championship qualifiers that start this Friday at Lido beach Entebbe. They arrived on Wednesday morning and later the playing pair and a referee also touched based in Entebbe in the afternoon. The rest of the team is expected in the country on Thursday around Lunch time.
African giants Rwanda, Kenya and Namibia are expected to jet in later Thursday for the competitions.
Uganda will be represented by St Mary’s Kitende pair Kathbert Malinga and Elias Isiagi. Faith Magole (Kinaawa High) and Jackline Kwikiriza (St. Bridget Mbarara) will represent the country in the women category.
Mauritius has pulled out of the three day double gender competition and the local organizing committee at UVF received a tentative confirmation by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) mid this week we can confirm.
Three teams from each gender will qualify for the world Championship finals to be hosted by Portugal in Porto from July 29-August 3.
