Reigning champions Nemostars’ A-game display against 2011 winners Nkumba Navy in NSSF Volleyball League encounter played on Wednesday night in Lugogo showed early intention pushing them straight into second place.

A depleted Nkumba side missing stars Otim Dikens and Gayi Albert who transferred to Sport-S were obliterated in straight sets within just one hour and six minutes.

The two have a history; Nemostars defeated Nkumba in 2012, to win their first league title but also denied the latter a chance to defend the crown they had won in 2011.

“We need to keep on giving our best until we find the regional rhythm. We are not yet where we want to be but are certainly getting there. Now we focus on the next game,” said Nemostars skipper Tom Paul Amou.

KAVC lead the Serie A log with 10 points.

In the Women Serie, Kampala City Capital Authority defeated a rejuvenated Nemostars 3:0 ( 13-25, 19-25, 18-25) before also seeing off SPORT-S ( 25-19, 25-21, 25-14).
