Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday held a meeting with youth leaders of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in which they promised to speak as one voice.

During the meeting, the leaders resolved to postpone all youth conferences till further notice.

President Yoweri Museveni emphasized the need for cohesion in the party.

In a rare move, Denis Namara the National Youth chairperson, recalled all the party members who were suspended early this week.

Tuesday’s meeting came just a day after Denis Namara suspended three youth leaders, Mr Moses Kiwanuka vice chairperson (eastern), Mr Ibrahim Kitata (chairperson Lwengo) and Mr David Kabanda (Youth leader Sembabule) over causing a plotting an illegal delegates conference.

“President Yoweri Museveni is the Supreme Leader of NRM, the Revolutionary Leader and Commander-in-Chief. We the NRM Youth League are behind him and we will support him in 2016. Whoever thinks we are not is mistaken” – Namara Dennis proclaimed.
