Umar Semata (Uganda) Beat Abdallah Hussein (Egypt)[49-46, 48-46, 49-47]
The Egyptian fighter defeated Ronald Mugula in one of the best performances by a foreign fighter to win the intercontinental belt on New Year’s Day here in Kampala.
The judges ruled 49-46, 48 – 46 and 49 – 47 in favour of the Ugandan who is based in Thailand. The K-1 style format fight was sanctioned by the Uganda Kick Boxing Federation in the 69.5 kilograms weight division.
Semata also holds the World Boxing Council Muay Thai Super Middleweight belt, a crown he holds after defeating Australian Rhys Karakyriacos last year.
