The race for the 2013/2014 FUFA Super League is now a two horse race that will be decided on May 6th.
The table leaders needed an outright win to be sure of retaining the trophy because of a better goal difference ahead of second placed SC Victoria University. They will now have to wait for their last game against SC Villa to see if they can retain the trophy.
“We had many scoring chances through Herman Wasswa and Tony Odur, but it was not our day,” said KCCA FC Coach George Nsimbe after the game.
His counterpart the Kiira Young Coach, Haruna Kebba said he was happy with the fighting spirit his players exhibited.
KCCA FC now lead the table with 57 points, while SC Victoria University has a point less and SC Vipers who beat Soana FC 3-0 on Sunday are third on 53 points. Joseph Mpande netted a brace, while Ali Muhamed scored the other goal for SC Vipers.
In the other match played, Proline FC lost 1-0 to Bidco FC with an Ali Mbogo own goal coming in added time. The loss meant that Coach Shafik Bisaso’s team slips to the lower Division together with CRO FC. Either Masaka LC or Entebbe FC could find themselves in the lower Division.
