Italian Coach Mr. Eugenio Borgo has not quenched his efforts to see that Kisenyi Primary School found in western Uganda is elavated to standard school equivalent to those located in the towns. The coach has continued to solicit funds in Italy for rehabilitation of the school.
Two years ago, Mr. Borgo came as a tourist with the intention to see the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and decided to see some juniors Volleyball in Uganda. He was linked to Uganda Volleyball Federation by his tour guide where he eventually visited East Kololo Primary School, Agha Khan Primary School, Sharing Youth Centre and Nkumba University.
During his visit to Murchison Falls National Park, the coach came across a Primary School located next to the park and was touched by its state as children shared the compound with chimps. He pledged to help the school through friends and he launched a campaign to Save Kisenyi in Italy. With such contributions, he has managed to send over 5,000 Euros which has seen the school fenced off with chain link, classrooms repaired and has built a modern toilet facility.
The Italian coach never forgot the sport he loves so much as he donated a mobile beach volleyball court, uniforms and sets of antennae that boosted the Federation in its operations. Eugenio is a very successful coach especially with U-16 Girls in Italy. He has so far visited Uganda three times to check on friends and the Kisenyi Project.
