Former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa in neighboring Kenya was Saturday arrested for allegedly claiming former Prime Minister and CORD Leader Raila Odinga will be sworn into office as President on July 7, if President Uhuru Kenyatta fails to dialogue with the Opposition coalition.

Mr Aladwa, who also serves as the Nairobi County ODM Chairman allegedly warned that Uhuru must meet Raila. The CORD team, led by Raila, has held several rallies around the country and was Saturday at Muliro Gardens in Kakamega.

Alwadwa was taken to Central Police Station in Nairobi where he reportedly recoded a statement.

It was not clear if he was released later in the evening. Saturday, Raila said the move by DPP Keriako Tobiko to investigate politicians for hate speech was meant to intimidate the opposition.

  1. So the Ugandan bug has finally caught up with Kenya! The East African Federation is now about to move in tandem. Is Somali-land ready to accommodate all the potential East African asylum seekers for a turn? These countries have given Somalis running away from their self inflicted political turmoil a safe haven where they are counted amongst the most rich wherever they are.

  2. Comedians indeed.!! This guy Odinga has no democratic credentials at all. He should accept the fact that he lost the elections to Uhuru and move on.
