Uganda Cubs Face Rwanda After Seychelles Dance Around

The Uganda Cubs on Saturday evening eliminated Seychelles from the on-going 2015 Africa U-17 Championship qualifier.
Coach Mathias Lule’s side won 3-0 with all the goals coming in the first half at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The team qualified on a 5-1 goal aggregate after their 2-1 first leg victory away in Seychelles.
Charles Ssebutinde who also scored in the first leg gave the Cubs a 1st minute lead with a well taken shot, while an own goal gifted the hosts to make it 2-0 after 27 minutes. Apart from Constance Rahim Tarick’s 30th minute shot at goal, the visitors looked very blunt in attack.
Emmanuel Olinga made it 3-0 in the 37th minute after catching the Seychelles defenders off guard. After recess the Cub came back strongly, but still fluffed many of the scoring opportunities they got. Each team had a penalty saved.

Uganda Cubs skipper Andrew Isiagi Okiring said they were happy to win in-front of the fans. The Coach Mathias Lule was a happy man after the final whistle. He praised the youngsters for a job well done, but added that they must now focus on the next game against Rwanda.
Gavin Jeanne, the Seychelles Coach said it was unfortunate his boys tired quickly. The Cubs will next face Rwanda in the first leg of the next round on July 19th in Kampala.
