URA on Wednesday released four players just days after winning their second Uganda Cup in three years.
Owen Kasule, Evans Tugume, Derrick Walulya and Allan Owiny will no longer wear the tax collectors’ jersey after URA decided not to renew their contracts that ended with the culmination of the 2013-2014 season.
None of the said players, however, was involved in the weekend victory, where URA beat KCC 4-2 on penalties to lift the Uganda Cup.
“The URA FC Chairman Mr Ali Ssekatawa has this afternoon signed their release letters and wished them the best in their careers,” reads in part a communication from the club.
Meanwhile, Owiny and Walulya had been on suspension for indiscipline since last November while Tugume has not played any first team football since joining the team two years ago.
