Beverage consumers in Uganda have yet another exciting and cool soft drink to enjoy during the leisure time following the introduction of Evervess Bitter Lemon variant by Crown Beverages Limited (CBL).
The new soda was unveiled today by Mr Jeff Ssekandi, the Customer Marketing Manager, on behalf of Mr Innocent Tibayeita, the Head of Sales and Marketing, at Forest Mall in Kampala.
Evervess Bitter Lemon, comes with a unique real, crisp, tasty, fresh zesty flavor to capture the distinctive taste of original lemon.
“We are deeply convinced that Evervess Bitter Lemon will enhance our product portfolio and will give our consumers more choice as life is lived to the fullest when there is choice,” Mr Tibayeita said at the launch of the new variant.
The product, whose tagline is, Bitter is Cool, is available at all shops and dukas countrywide and will complement CBL’s existing product portfolio including; Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7 UP and Pepsi which was recently elevated to a super brand at the Superbrands Tribute Awards held in Kampala last month. The soda is available in 500ml plastic bottles at a retail price of Shs1,500.
Addressing journalists at the launch, Ms Bernadette Kizza, the brand manager, Evervess Bitter Lemon, said; “Over a period of time, Crown Beverages always introduces a new variant to give customers international quality and variety.”
“The focus of the Evervess Bitter Lemon flavour does not lie primarily in the ability to be mixed with spirits, but in the outstanding flavour potential as pure refreshment with a strong character; as a standalone,” she explained.
CBL’s success over the years has been driven by four key things including, among others, product innovation which remains at the centre of our business because it helps us respond to our customers’ needs, upholding our quality to international standards and fruitful engagement with consumers.
The last new soda variant that CBL introduced onto the Ugandan market was Mirinda Green Apple in March 2013.
Crown Beverages bottles global brands that stand for quality, are respected household names and have a rich heritage. For instance, the Pepsi brand boasts a long and rich history in Uganda.
Even as its bottlers and handlers have evolved, Ugandans have savoured the soft drink since 1951 when it was first bottled by the then Lake Victoria Bottling Company.
This innovation comes at a time when CBL is making ground to gain market leadership in the industry having been in operation for more than 20 years.
