Richard Kasagga nearly caused a stir today when it was apparent that the Uganda Cranes defender was not going to turn up for Kiira Young pre-season training as scheduled. The situation was later resolved by club owner Jimmy Lukwago who stated that Kasagga was only expected back on Tuesday after the Uganda’s regrouping for the 2rd leg clash away to Mauritania in the 2015 AFCON pre-qualifiers.
The Makerere University student was an unused subsitute in the first leg on Saturday.
However, Kasagga who is so much desired by Uganda League champions Kampala City Council FC has moved on to make some rather disparaging comments regarding his future to Red Pepper Online Sport.
He had the following to say:
“Apparently am not sure where I will play next season. When a club wants you, calls you, they want to make you part of their project. When am opportunity comes along I’d love to play proffesional football. I can’t say KCC has contacted me. I won’t tell you anything about my contract because the club is entitled to that.
Our colleagues at Kawowo Sport whoever report that Mr Lukwago would wish to loan defender Richard Kasagga to KCC on condition KCC does go ahead and offer a contract to his goal keeper Ashadu Bugembe.
Lukwago is only willing to loan Kasagga on condition he features for KCC in the upcoming Kagame cup, then he returns and they negotiate a fresh loan deal almost Shs 30Million.
