Should Uganda Cranes Hire A Goal-scoring Coach ?

Tuesday: Uganda 0-0 Malawi

We have always had a low conversion rate at Uganda Cranes and now that we have more or less lost the guys who could get to the back of the net, we have to look at ways of improving the guys in the current set-up.

Why not hire a forward line coach? or get one in to help the strikers along?

I have heard that when Thierry Henry arrived at Arsenal, he was forced to sit side by side with players like Dennis Bergkamp to slowly see him through as a striker.

And I have heard Alexis Sanchez will be given some help in his scoring at Arsenal.

So why can’t we at the Uganda Cranes?

Watching the Burundi friendly reminded me of the struggles we have had in the past. We have always been poor finishers.

Even the likes of Brian Omony seem to get lost once they put on the Cranes jersey. Why?

Can we get in a consultant to work with the players? Maybe some of the old timers in the Ugandan game. The ones who could score goals like Majid Musisi and the Philip Omondi? Oooh may the two RIP!

Maybe the players need it.
