On 10th August, unidentified gunmen waylaid two foreign tourists and robbed them of their belonging at Kiyoora along the Kabale-Bunyonyi road.

The tourists were identified as Samuel Wanyaga, a Kenyan National and his Swedish counterpart Daniel Lanti. According to police, the gunmen staged an illegal road, which forced the duo to stop.

The duo was injured in the attack after the gunmen opened fire, which left them hospitalized. A few days earlier, unidentified gunmen had also shot dead Lawrence Twinomuhangi, a receptionist Kabale Little Ritz Hotel.

Twinomuhang reportedly met his death when he tried to block the gunmen from accessing the hotel to rob tourists who had checked in.
