South African based Sangoma; Sulaiman Mbuga is on the run since URA moved to attach some of his property after he deliberately failed to pay his tax arrears worth 200million Uganda shillings.
Sources have revealed that two days ago URA officials moved to SK Mbuga’s home in Kabalagala to attach some of his many monster cars.
Mbuga who was not at his place was informed by some of his workers and he quickly rushed to his home to secure his property from URA officials.
Upon reaching his home Mbuga issued a cheque that was worth 100 million but when the URA officials took it to the bank it bounced.
URA officials decided to return to Mbuga’s home the following day (Yesterday) to attach his property but to their surprise, the monster rides were nowhere to be seen, gates closed and the efforts to contact Mbuga were unsuccessful.
URA officials however vowed to hunt Mbuga down until he pays his tax arrears.
“This town of ours, Kampala is very small. We shall get him and he will face the law for evading taxes,” said a URA official.
Mbuga Speaks Out
The flamboyant tycoon and Sangoma who views Leila Kayondo’s eclipse on a daily basis says that he has not been served with any warrant from URA.
“I have never seen any document from URA saying that I have been evading taxes and they should also tell me what they are taxing me for because I don’t rum my business from Uganda,” charged Mbuga.
He further said that he is willing to pay the taxes as long as they serve him and explain to him what they are taxing.
He also said the he crossed out the cheque he had issued because they put him on gun point to sign it.
