Uganda League Champions KCCA FC are the winners of the 2014 Super Cup.
Coach George Nsimbe’s side made sure they humbled URA FC 2-0 on Saturday in the final played at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium. Attacking midfielder Tom Masiko netted a brace to win it for KCCA FC.
Masiko, who was in good form when KCCA FC retained the league title, netted in the 12th and 36th minute to stop URA FC.
The loss marked a rude return for Alex Isabirye as URA FC coach. The absence of striker Robert Ssentongo for the Uganda Cup winners was evident for URA FC as they looked blunt in attack.
“We are happy that we have won this trophy which is also a big boost as we head to Rwanda on Tuesdayfor the 2014 CECAFA Kagame Club Championships,” Nsimbe told MTNFootball.com after the game.
On his part Isabirye said they had lost to a better team, but added that they will work hard ahead of the start of the season this month.
“The game has helped me to study a number of things which are both positive and negative. We shall be a better team when the league kicks-off,” he added.
