UPDF Jet Crashes in Gulu

A UPDF jet has crashed at Patek parish in Bobi Sub County in Gulu district. Francisco Watdok, the LC 3 chairperson Koro sub county says the jet crashed at midday with two people on board.

He says the duo escaped unhurt as they managed to get off the jet before it caught fire. Dominic Ameny, the LC I chairperson Awor village, which is near the crash site says the jet landed on top of a toilet and stayed for a few minutes before it went up in flames.

Robert Ochen is an eye witness.

Captain Mark Mutono, the 4 Division army spokesperson has confirmed the incident. He says the affected jet is one of the eight that were being using for training UPDF pilots at the Gulu air force base.

Joseph Bakabulindi, the 4th division deputy army commander says the army was yet to establish what could have happened.

He says technical committee will investigate the crash and come up with a report.
