Uganda v Sudan, Namboole
Uganda Cranes will face Ethiopia and Sudan in International build-ups on at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole next month.
The communication was revealed by the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo as he addressed the delegates at the 90th FUFA general assembly held at St. Lira Hotel. Magogo revealed the team will host two games starting with Ethiopia on November 9 before playing Sudan two days later
According to Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, these ties will enable him review his players’ technical state before the big games. “Training alone isn’t enough because I never get to see the foreign-based players a lot in action, and let alone get thorough reviews from their club coaches to know what physical condition they are in,” Micho explained.
Following Cranes’ below-par display in their last round of qualifying games against Togo, that saw them lose 1-0 both home and away, the friendlies are a welcome sign to the national team that has been shy infront of goal.
Micho adds that the build-ups for the team ahead of the Ghana game are very welcome because it will help him organize the team better.
The Cranes are third in Group E with four points behind Togo and Ghana. Guinea are bottom of the log with four points, but with a poor goal difference.
