Goons Rounded At Kampala Festival

policeThe suspects are being held at Kampala Central Police Station. Police is still screening before tentative charges are preferred against the suspects some of whom are said to have outstanding charges.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango says the suspects were caught pick pocketing, snatching bags and necklaces while some had skipped bond in their previous cases.

Police is also looking for parents to four children who are still at CPS and were found missing during the festivities. The four are part of the seven children registered missing. The other 3 were claimed by the parents on Monday morning.

The four children who include 12 year old Silver Tumusiime, 8 year Old Talent Mulamira , Gerald Bendera and Bosco Atukaire  are believed to share parentage.

Started by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in 2012, the festival was initially geared towards bringing the people of Kampala and beyond together to celebrate Uganda’s 50 years of Independence but it has now turned into an annual event.
