Incoming Premier Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has Thursday taken two oaths at State House Entebbe.

The ceremony carried out before President Yoweri Museveni and witnessed by his family members with the new Prime Minister undertaking to be faithful and bear true allegiance to his nation and to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution and vow not to divulge sensitive information that would come to his knowledge as he executes his duties.

Parliament on Tuesday approved the appointment of Rugunda and his approval was put to vote, four Opposition MPs opposed the motion, four others abstained while 217 MPs supported his approval.

Dr Rugunda promised to tackle graft in public offices following the sacking of Amama Mbabazi by the president on September 19.
